General Election 2024: Do you know where your polling station is?

VOTERS across Somerset are heading to polling stations today to decide who will represent them at parliament.

But do you know where your polling station is?

A handy website is available that allows people to put it their postcode and find out where exactly they’ve been asked to vote.

Voters would have been sent a polling card in the weeks leading up to the election which lists the specific location they can vote in, but you do not need to take the poll card with you to vote – and you can still vote if you’ve lost your card.

For the first time, voters will be expected to show photo ID before being issued with a ballot paper.

Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm today (July 4). You can only vote at the polling station on your poll card, but if you’ve lost the card and want to find out where your station is, visit the electoral commission website.
