The A361 floodgates have been closed at East Lyng and Burrowbridge for the past couple of days. This was after floodwater covered the carriageway.

Somerset Council say the waters are now starting to recede. The road is expected to be opened from 4.30pm today (9 January).

However, Somerset Council is using the road closure as an opportunity to treat a number of willow trees that line the section of road that has been closed.

To allow this work to be continued, the A361 will be closed between the hours of 9am through to 3.30pm from Monday 15 January to Wednesday 24 January. Outside these hours and at the weekend the road will be open as normal.
