Break in near Glastonbury

Police are asking the public for help after a break in at the village of Westhay near Glastonbury.

The incident happened in the Main Road area of Westhay sometime between 11pm on Sunday 26 November and 5am the following morning.

Damage was caused to security lights before the offenders broke into the unit. They made off with Snap-on tools and equipment, including trolley jacks, hand tools, diagnostic computers. They also stole work lights and two limited edition Snap-on kids’ pedal cars.

Police say that the offenders had access to a van, or large vehicle which may have been parked near the Main Road. They believe it was used to transport the stolen goods across a field.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw a suspicious vehicle in the area, within the times and dates the offence was committed. If you have seen a large quantity of Snap-on tools for sale, they would like to hear from you too. Especially the rare Snap-on kids’ pedal car. The pedal cars have white writing on the side and are black, with a silver front and brown leather seat.

They would specifically ask residents in Westhay to check their doorbell and dashcam footage to see if they can help.
