A303 still closed due to floods

Drivers are advised that the A303 in Somerset has been closed in both directions due to flooding. National Highways warn that more heavy rain is forecast this week. As a result it is anticipated the road will be shut for some time.

National Highways is urging motorists to avoid the area if possible and to allow extra time for journeys. The A303 is closed between the A37/A372 junction at Podimore and the A3088 roundabout at Cartgate.

The only diversion available at the present is to drive through the centre of Yeovil. Drivers are advise to avoid the area if at all possible.

A37 was impassable at the Ilchester end (yesterday, 16.30) ended up on the A303 going east to Podimore along with one or two others – very odd – not flooded. So was back where I started and had to take the Langport road to Thornfalcon to reach Ilminster…..
