YEOVIL Town have won promotion to the National League, earning their first league title in 19 years.
On Thursday, April 11, the Glovers defeated Truro City 2-0 to claim the title with three matches still to play.
A successful season, the Somerset side has led the division since October 7, bouncing straight back up after their relegation from the fifth tier last season.
It marks the end of a decade in turmoil – Yeovil have been in constant decline since finishing rock bottom of the Championship in 2014.
The club’s most recent league title came 6,915 days ago with a victory in the 2004/05 League Two season, led by then-manager Gary Johnson.
Speaking after the match, manager Mark Cooper said: “That was the only outcome after last year, with what happened and what we had to go through, it was so important we bounced back.
“The owner has given us that opportunity to sign some good players and rebuild the football club.
“It’s a great night for everyone, I’m so pleased for the players and the staff, it’s been amazing, and the fans.
“Top drawer. It means the world.”
