Young people urged to complete Somerset MP’s public transport survey

YOUNG people across Taunton and Wellington are being urged to have their say on public transport as part of a survey by the area’s MP.

Gideon Amos (Lib Dem, Taunton & Wellington), alongside Somerset National Youth Parliament member James Lawson, has launched an online consultation into the issue.

Students across Taunton and Wellington are being asked for their views on all forms of public transport – particularly the us route.

“Young people are an extremely important demographic of people who rely on public transport,” Mr Amos said.

“That is why I want to know their views on what is working for them and, more importantly, what isn’t.

“We’ll be collating all the information into a report which we will then take to transport operators and local authorities as part of our drive for improvements in line with people’s wishes and needs.”

James said: “I am pleased to support Gideon in his efforts to deliver meaningful improvements to public transport and to the services which provide young people with safe, reliable, and essential travel options.

“This survey represents a thoughtful and practical step forward, driven by our desire to see direct, positive outcomes for young people in our communities.

“I am proud to be involved in an initiative which listens to young people’s experiences and works to turn their feedback into real change.”

Young people, who don’t see the survey online, can ask for a copy at their school/college office, or email OfficeofGideonAmos@parliament.uk.
