Yeovil Library closed this week for customer service point move

YEOVIL Library is closed today and tomorrow (April 24 and 25) – to move a customer service point to the venue.

The Somerset Council service point, previously located at Petters House, will open on the ground floor of the library on Monday (April 28), opening Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4pm.

The library itself, in King George Street, will reopen on Saturday (April 26), with the closure allowing services to move to one building, and provide time for staff training.

“Residents can still access the same facilities as they did in Petters House and customer service staff will be on hand to assist them in the library on weekdays,” a council spokesperson said.

If members of the public in Yeovil need to contact Somerset Council’s customer Service team during the closure, they can do so by calling 0300 123 2224 or via the Somerset Council website.

Councillor Federica Smith-Roberts, lead member for communities, housing and culture, said: “Moving our services to one building will make it easier for residents to access the information and support that they need in one collaborative space.

“If residents need to contact the council during the two-day closure, they can call our phone line or visit any of our Customer Access Points, available in libraries across Somerset.”

Petters House will be permanently closed from today (April 24).
