A WORKSHOP and storage building was completely destroyed in a fire near Wells last night (January 31).
Firefighters from Cheddar and Wells, along with a water carrier from Bridgwater, were sent to the scene, in Westbury Sub Mendip, at around 7.15pm.
“The crew extinguished the fire in the outbuilding which was used as a workshop and storage space,” a Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
“The building and contents were completely destroyed by fire.
“The crew used two breathing apparatus wearers using a hose reel jet, a main jet and drag forks to extinguish.
“It is unknown how the fire started.”
