WORK to improve bus stops in a North Somerset village is underway.
North Somerset Council’s project to upgrade facilities in Pill started this week, and will see improved shelters and real-time travel information available to commuters.
A larger precinct shelter with seating, lighting, and a living roof is part of the work, as well as safer, wider footways and a new crossing point, along with new paving, planting, seating and a community noticeboard on the precinct.
“We’re working with Alliance Homes on this project – they own the precinct and have contributed towards improving the paving,” an NSC spokesperson said.

“The existing bollards will be replaced with new stainless steel ones, which can drop down for market days.”
The works are due to be completed in March, with temporary bus stops in the northern layby on Heywood Road as the work takes place.
Pill’s upgrades are part of a wider project that will see more than 150 bus stops in North Somerset get a makeover.
