A WOMAN was cut free from a vehicle after a crash in Chard last night (March 10).
The incident, involving three vehicles, happened at around 6.20pm on the King’s Head corner, in Church Street, with firefighters from Chard and Ilminster sent to the scene, as well as other emergency services.
A Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said one person was still inside one of the vehicles.
“Hydraulic cutting equipment in use in order to carry out a full roof removal to access the casualty,” they said at the time.
“Crews currently assisting ambulance crews in getting casualty on to long board and they will then be taken to hospital by land ambulance.”
Crews left the scene at around 9.20pm after removing the roof of the vehicle to free the woman, who was taken to hospital by ambulance.
