West Somerset road – scene of a tragic coach crash in July – to close tomorrow for ‘police investigation’

A WEST Somerset road will be closed tomorrow (November 5) as part of a police investigation.

The A396 will be closed between Wheddon Cross and Timberscombe from 9.30am until 4.30pm, Somerset Council said.

“The closure was requested by Avon and Somerset Police as part of an ongoing investigation,” a spokesperson added.

Though no details have been confirmed, that stretch of the A396, at Cutcombe Hill, is where a coach crash which tragically killed 10-year-old Oliver Price occurred, in July.

Oliver passed away after a coach carrying Minehead Middle School pupils home from a trip to Exmoor Zoo left the road at around 3pm on July 17.

Never seen such brave young people (in my eyes they outgrew their childhood status that day) as those that I saw that afternoon. I shall never forget them. I cannot imagine how I would have reacted had I have gone through what they went through. Great respect and love to them all.
