VOLUNTEERS got to work removing graffiti from a Street underpass this week – and received support from passers-by.
Street Parish Councillor Alison Horgan (North) and assistant clerk Danielle Price took to scrubbing the vandalism on a mural at the Woodsbatch underpass.
They said afterwards: “It was lovely to speak with many residents and meet their gorgeous dogs – who shared their disappointment at the vandalism and were so appreciative.
“Let’s hope a quick reaction does the trick and we will arrange to remove the rest very soon.
“Thanks to all the passers by and for all your supportive messages.
“Not only is it disgraceful anyone would behave in such a destructive way to such an artistically decorated space, enjoyed by our residents on their way to the park, but take a look at all the waste from actually having to remove the graffiti.
“It is beyond imagination as to why whoever is responsible has done it, we do hope they reflect and realise their lack of judgement and leave well alone in future.”
