RESIDENTS traded a Frome care home for Santa’s Grotto during a memorable recent outing.

A group from the Catherine House Care Home, in Cork Street, enjoyed a festive day at the Critchill Manor Estate – home to the grotto at this time of year.

And for many residents, it wasn’t only about meeting Santa, but the familiarity of the scene, the details that stirred memories, and the sense of being part of something recognisable at this time of year.

Enjoying meeting Mr and Mrs Claus, the group rediscovered memories of Christmasses past, before warming up with a hot drink and mince pies at the clubhouse.

Catherine House registered nurse Aaron said: “It truly is the most wonderful time of the year, and the Catherine House family felt that magic during their visit to one of Frome’s enchanting Christmas villages, Santa’s Grotto.

“For me, one of the most unforgettable moments was seeing Monica exchange playful remarks with Santa and Mrs Claus. Her laughter was contagious.”
