TWO people were freed from vehicles after a crash near Taunton last night (July 9).
Crews from Taunton and Wellington were called to the scene, on the B3227 near Norton Fitzwarren, at around 6.40pm to reports of a two-vehicle crash.
“Crews arrived at the scene and requested a third appliance and the Rescue Tender from Taunton,” a Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
“This was two vehicles involved, with two persons trapped.
“Crews released two casualties from two separate vehicles using hydraulic cutters and spreaders, air bags, a triple extension ladder and small tools.
“Crews made the vehicle and scene safe. There was also 1 walking wounded casualty. Duty of care was left with the ambulance and police.
“This was a complex extrication and crews from all three services worked hard and effectively together to free all trapped casualties and transfer them to the care of the paramedics.”
