Tributes to Yeovil Country Park volunteer Bill Keeley – who has passed away

DEDICATED ranger and volunteer at Yeovil Country Park – Bill Keeley – has passed away at the age of 77.

Bill, who was involved in a host of activities at the site over many years, died on July 14, with a funeral held on August 6.

His family said they had been comforted by a raft of tributes after his passing, and said they were raising money for charity in his memory.

“While working at Bagwell Farm Caravan Park tending the animals and help maintaining the site, Bill also actively help raised money for charity, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance being one of them, and over the last few years created wonderful things for people to buy, with the proceeds going to the them,” they said.

They have created a fundraising page for the air ambulance, a “charity close to his heart” – including helping try to save him on the day he passed away.

“We as a family would also like to take the opportunity to thank the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance for attending that day, not by air, but by road,” they added.

“We really appreciate everything you tried to do alongside the ambulance and paramedics that attended that day.”

“He touched the lives of many people, sharing his skills and wisdom with great kindness and always encouraging learning.

“As you explore the Country Park you will wander over bridges installed by Bill and stonework restored by the team of volunteers he led.
