Traveller encampments move on from Victoria Park and Taunton Green

TRAVELLERS have moved off Victoria Park and Taunton Green.

On Friday (April 18), Taunton Town Council (TTC) confirmed eviction notices had been served to a number of people at ‘encampments’ in the county town.

Officials were notified of the groups moving on to the sites on Thursday (April 17) and TTC said it was working to “swiftly seek their removal”.

This morning (April 22), the council posted footage of Victoria Park, where the encampment was set up.

“The unauthorised encampments at Victoria Park and Taunton Green have moved on; our teams will be on site throughout the day,” a TTC spokesperson said.

“Please be patient and take extra care whilst the clean up is underway, particularly if you are visiting the area with children or dogs.”
