SPACE above a Yeovil shop could be converted into a flat, if plans are approved.
A planning application has been submitted to Somerset Council for a change of use to allow the conversion of the first and second floors, plus the loft space, of 80 Middle Street, into a three-bedroom flat.
The ground floor retail space – currently occupied by Gone Potty – would remain, the application said.
“This proposal seeks to convert the currently underutilized first and second floor storage areas, along with the loft room, into a spacious, well-proportioned residential flat,” it said.
“The ground floor retail use will remain unchanged, ensuring that the central commercial character of the property is maintained.”
It said the building’s exterior would not be altered, while parking is available to the front and rear, and is “ideally located near the town centre and one of its primary retail areas”.
