Taunton school students celebrate GCSE results after years of hard work

STAFF, students and families gathered together at Pyrland School in Taunton as students eagerly opened their GCSE results today (August 21).

Their grades mark the culmination of years of hard work.

Mark Lawrence, executive headteacher, said he is “incredibly proud” of the Year 11 students.

“These results reflect not only academic successes but also the character and perseverance of the young people that attend Pyrland School,” he said. “We wish them all every success in their chosen future pathways.”

“This is a year group who began their secondary school journey under difficult circumstances, but despite this through their hard work and the hard work of the staff that have supported them have gone on to achieve some great results.”

Highflyers include:

  • Noah G who achieved six grade 9s, three grade 8s and an ‘A’ in further maths
  • Theo P whose grades included three grades 9s and four grade 8s
  • Dotty F whose grades included two grade 9s, two grade 8s and a D*

Other students celebrating exceptional results include Isabelle L, Devi T, Darcy G, Ollie D, Shafna I, Lydia A and Martyna G.

Staff are also celebrating with students whose hard work saw them exceeding their target grades in multiple subjects, including Charlie R, Jenson, Y, Anna T, James H, Lily WR, Ava WR, Cameron O and Travis B.
