A SHEPTON Mallet park is more welcoming for visitors thanks to a funding boost.
The Collett Park Charity received £1,500 from the Tesco blue tokens scheme – which was later boosted to £5,000.
And Shepton Mallet Town Council (SMTC) has now invested the money in improving access to the park, which is growing in popularity.
“Our park is such a beautiful and well-loved space, and it’s becoming increasingly busy, so we chose to invest the funding in installing a rubber and stone composite surface at the entrance to the play area to prevent water from ponding there,” an SMTC spokesperson said.
“A big thank you to everyone who voted for us, and a special thanks to Tesco for their generosity.”
