SOMERSET MP Anna Sabine has been handed a top job on the Liberal Democrats’ ‘frontbench’.

The Frome & East Somerset MP has been named spokesperson for culture, media and sport by the party, taking over from Cheltenham MP Max Wilkinson.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have been given the post of spokesperson for culture, media and sport for the Liberal Democrats,” Ms Sabine said.

“Such an exciting brief and a brilliant opportunity to champion so many causes I’m passionate about and excellent organisations in my constituency.

“I’m taking over from my excellent South West colleague Max Wilkinson who has promised to teach me keepy-uppy as a priority,” she added.

Ms Sabine has represented the new Frome & East Somerset constituency since last year’s general election, when she was voted in with a majority of just over 5,400.
