A DRIVER shortage is delaying recycling and garden waste collections in North Somerset.
Residents have been thanked for “bearing with us” by North Somerset Council as the authority manages the issue – and urged people to be understanding with crews still working.
“We’re currently experiencing a shortage of drivers, which means some recycling and garden waste collections may be delayed,” a spokesperson said.
“Our crews are working incredibly hard under challenging circumstances, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding.
“Please continue to be kind to them — every smile and wave makes a big difference.”
“More updates will follow soon. Thank you for bearing with us.”

This three week thing of emptying the bins is ridiculous. I open my bin one week and then all maggots came out somebody I heard somebody else open this they had the same as Well and especially if you’ve got young children like babies and that putting nappies in there and leaving them in there for three weeks, oh boy it stinks. Let’s go back to where it was. It’s far better plus it against health and safety the council always tell us about health and safety, but it’s about time they practice what they preach.
