Range Rover driver left with ‘life-threatening injuries’ after A358 crash

POLICE are appealing for information after a crash that left a driver with ‘life-threatening injuries’.

The incident, involving a white DAF lorry and a black Range Rover travelling in opposite directions, happened on the A358 at Hatch Beauchamp at around 3.50pm on Wednesday (February 14).

The driver of the car was airlifted to hospital, police said, while the lorry driver was taken to hospital by land ambulance, though their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The A358 was closed for a number of hours between the junctions with the A303 and the A378 while collision investigators examined the scene and vehicles were recovered. It remains closed while repair and resurfacing work is carried out, Somerset Council said.

“If you were travelling on that section of the A358 and have any dashcam footage or any other information we’d like to hear from you,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5224039756.
