Poultry sheds could be demolished to make way for seven new homes

SEVEN new homes could be developed in place of sheds on a Somerset farm.

A planning application has been submitted to Somerset Council by Whiteacre Planning, on behalf of P Phillips, to demolish two large poultry sheds at Southland Farm, in South Cheriton, and replace them with seven properties.

The proposals include plans for one ‘farmhouse-style’ four-five bedroom house, two five-bed houses and four three-bedroom houses, with access coming from Marsh Lane.

“Generous gardens, parking and garages would be provided for all dwellings, with extensive landscaping,” the application said.

It added: “Suitable access has been allowed for vehicles and pedestrians, while maintaining a low visual impact through the choice of natural materials and planting.”

The scheme will now be considered by Somerset Council planners. For more details, and to comment on the plans, log on to somerset.gov.uk and search application reference 25/01442/FUL.
