Police in Glastonbury nab wanted man – Hot Fuzz-style (almost)

POLICE chased down a wanted man through the streets of Glastonbury – in a Hot Fuzz-style pursuit.

Last night (November 10), members of the Avon & Somerset Police neighbourhood team in the town “pursued a male wanted in connection with failing to attend court”.

“After a brief foot chase through the town, the suspect was successfully detained,” a spokesperson said.

“Upon arrest, he was found to be in possession of suspected Class A and Class B drugs. He remains in custody while further enquiries are carried out.”

In a nod to the West Country-set comedy Hot Fuzz, in which stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost navigate garden fences to capture a wanted person, they added: “And no, we didn’t have to jump any fences. #HotFuzz.”

“Thanks to the quick actions of our officers and support from the community, another dangerous individual is off the streets,” the spokesperson added.
