Plans for 35 new homes on site near Frome submitted

UP to 35 new homes could be built near Frome if plans are approved.

OG Group, on behalf of M7 Planning Limited, has submitted an application to Somerset Council to develop land south of Bath Road, Beckington.

The scheme would see up to 35 new homes built on the 5.88-acre site, near Beckington Services, with outline permission sought to give the go-ahead for detailed planning.

It outlines plans for 30% affordable homes on the site – 14 properties – with the scheme made up of a mix of dwellings, from one-bed flats to four-bed homes, which “will include homes that cater for first-time buyers and young families”.

“The definitive mix of the proposed dwellings will be determined at reserved matters stage,” the application said.

It added: “The proposed scheme is to be served by a single priority-controlled junction on Bath Road.”
