Person rescued from fire at property in Bridgwater

A PERSON was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at a property in Bridgwater.

Firefighters from Taunton and Bridgwater were sent to reports a person could still be inside the property at around 12.39am on Thursday morning (October 3).

“Three fire engines attended a property reported to be on fire,” a Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said. “There were concerns that someone was still inside the property.”

The crews used four breathing apparatus, two thermal image cameras, a positive pressure ventilation fan, a triple extension ladder and two gas monitors to tackle the fire.

“Ambulance were on scene and treated the occupant for smoke inhalation,” the spokesperson added. “The cause is believed to be accidental.”
