Person freed from car after crash near Bridgwater this morning

FIREFIGHTERS freed a person from wreckage after a crash in a village near Bridgwater this morning (December 19).

The incident, just outside Combwich, occurred at around 10am with fire crews from Bridgwater and Nether Stowey sent to the scene.

“Two fire crews were sent to a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision just outside Combwich,” a Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.

“On arrival, crews confirmed that this collision involved two cars, with one person still trapped inside one of the cars.

“Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the casualty, who was then left in the hands of paramedics. Crews made both vehicles safe.”
