A NORTH Somerset housing development has scooped top national recognition.

Haywood Village, in Weston-super-Mare, was handed Highly Commended status in the Development of the Year category at the Premier Guarantee Excellence Awards 2025 in London.

Charles Church, a sister brand of Persimmon Homes, was recognised in the category for developments of between 101 and 150 units.

The development was led by senior site manager, Andy Weller, and was one of just four across the UK to be shortlisted for the accolade.

The Premier Guarantee Excellence Awards celebrate “outstanding performance across the housebuilding industry, with judging criteria including build quality, health and safety practices, and site management”.
