PLANS have been submitted to create a nine-bed house in multiple occupation (HMO) in the centre of Bridgwater.
The plans detail a loft conversion, a new dormer window and a hip-to-gable extension to the side to facilitate a change of use of 41 Taunton Road on the A38.
Each bedroom, the plans said, would have an en suite shower room and potential future residents would share a communal kitchen and living room on the ground floor.
The property will be updated internally and refurbished to provide a “pleasant environment” for residents.

GD Designs, the agent on behalf of the applicant, said: “The applicant has established a need for this type of development in the area and has a number of properties locally which have been converted and are fully occupied.

“As part of the proposals, the rear garden area, which has vehicle access, will provide six car parking spaces and have secure cycle storage for residents, although as the property is close to local amenities, most residents will not have a car.”
