STREET residents are being encouraged to attend a meeting next month to have their say on plans for 71 new homes.
The call comes after plans were submitted to Somerset Council by developer Crossman Acquisitions Ltd for the homes on land off Moorland Road.
The firm says around one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom properties could be built on the site, which stretches to 3.37 hectares (8.3 acres), 30% of which would be ‘affordable’.
The outline application said the scheme also includes a “new detailed access providing principal vehicle, pedestrian and cycle routes into the site from the south off Moorland Road”.

“Dedicated footway and cycle links are also provided through the site ensuring permeability, including connectivity to the play area located near to the site entrance,” it added.
Street Parish Council has called on anyone who wishes to put their view forward on the scheme to attend a meeting of the Planning Advisory Committee on Tuesday, May 13, from 6pm in Room 6 of Crispin Community Centre.
