A MAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire in Bridgwater on Thursday evening (November 13).
Firefighters from Bridgwater were sent to the scene – a two-storey property – at 5.45pm.
The blaze involved lithium batteries stored in a ground-floor annexe, a Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
“Crews used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to ensure the fire was fully extinguished,” they went on.
“The annexe was 25% fire damaged and 100% smoke damage to the annexe.
“A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to rid the property of smoke.
“One male was suffering with slight smoke inhalation and received first aid from crews.”
They said the cause of the fire was accidental and crews left the scene at around 7.45pm.
