A MAN in his 90s has died after a crash near Yeovil.

The man – believed to be the driver – passed away after a white Fiat Panda crashed in Sutton Hill, Closworth, towards the A37 junction, at around 10.35am on Wednesday (June 11), when it ‘left the carriageway’.

“Emergency services attended the scene and the man, who was in his 90s, was taken to hospital where he sadly died a few hours later. He was the sole occupant of the car,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.

“His family have been updated and are being supported by a specially-trained officer. Our thoughts are with them at this hugely upsetting time.”

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or the Fiat Panda before the incident, on 101, reference 5225162393.
