A MAN has died after a car crash in Churchinford near Taunton yesterday (February 10).

A man in his 40s, who was driving a white Peugeot 3008, crashed on a rural road near Red Lane at around 12.05am, Avon and Somerset Police said.

He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers say the man’s next of kin has been informed.

The road reopened at 11.30am once recovery work had been completed.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.

“We believe the car was travelling from the direction of Blagdon Hill towards Churchinford when the collision occurred,” a spokesperson said.
