Lib Dems land seat on Frome Town Council after by-election

LIBERAL Democrat candidate Richard Pinnock has been elected to Frome Town Council (FTC) – by just six votes.

Richard will represent the Park ward following a by-election on Tuesday (February 10) following the resignation of former councillor, Max Wide, for personal reasons.

Leader and chair of FTC, Fiona Barrows, said: “We congratulate Richard on his election and look forward to working constructively with him for the benefit of Park Ward and Frome as a whole.”

The full result for the Frome Town Council Park ward by-election was:
• Dawn Denton, Conservative: 84
• Grace Harper, Independents for Frome: 249
• Richard Pinnock, Liberal Democrat: 255

Turnout was 18.9%.

The news comes after the Liberal Democrats also won a by-election in Wellington, beating Reform UK into second place.
