THE Liberal Democrats and Labour are outspending the Conservative Party on social media advertising in all Somerset seats, new data reveals.
The parties – who currently hold none of the county constituencies – are targeting the areas in a bid to boost their numbers at Westminster.
Now, a new survey by social media monitor Who Targets Me and Sky News, shows the amounts they are spending to reach voters online, through ads on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
Who Targets Me analysed data of money spent on Meta sites – which include Facebook and Instagram – in the seven days up to June 17.
And the analysis shows the Liberal Democrats are leading the way in spending.

However, while the sums involved are not large on a seat-by-seat basis, they add up to a total of more than £2,000 across the county – a move the parties will hope pays off at the ballot box on July 4.
Here’s a breakdown of the biggest Meta spenders in selected constituencies in Somerset:
Bridgwater: Liberal Democrats – £3.45
Frome & East Somerset: Liberal Democrats – £331.36
Glastonbury & Somerton: Liberal Democrats – £402.73
