A PERSON was rescued from a late-night fire at a flat in Cheddar.
Fire crews from Cheddar, Wells and Winscombe were sent to the scene at just after 12.30am this morning (January 14) after reports of a blaze at a flat in the town.
“On arrival, crews confirmed there was a fire within the flat and one adult was rescued by fire crews and led to safety,” a Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
“The fire involved unattended cooking in the kitchen and was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one safety jet and a thermal image camera.”
They said the damage was confined to the kitchen, while the rescued person was treated by paramedics.
