A RUBBISH fire spreading to a lean-to in Taunton prompted an early hours callout fir firefighters.
The incident, in Dorchester Road, was reported at around 1.48am this morning (August 18), with crews from the county town sent to the scene.
“The fire was involving green waste which had spread to an outbuilding measuring approximately 10 metres x 4m,” a Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
Crews used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, small tools and a positive pressure ventilation fan to put out the fire.
“Unfortunately, the outbuilding sustained approximately 50% fire damage and 100% smoke damage,” the spokesperson added. “The cause of the fire was accidental.”
