Garage and contents in Bridgwater “100% destroyed” by fire this morning

A GARAGE in Bridgwater was completely destroyed by fire in the early hours of this morning (February 6).

Crews from the town were sent to the scene, in Summerway Drove, at just before 1.30am after reports of a blaze in a block-built building.

“Two fire engines from Bridgwater attended this incident,” a Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.

“On arrival, it was confirmed this was a single-storey, block-built garage well alight. The fire had been burning some considerable time before arrival of the fire service.”

They said the building, which measured around 7m by 5m, and the contents, were “100% destroyed by fire” and that one hose reel jet was used to put the fire out.
