FUNDRAISING is set to start to bring a new skatepark to Frome.
In August, Frome Town Council agreed to support plans for a new facility in the town.
The Local Skatepark Project aims to create the new attraction at the Mary Baily Playing Field – but needs to raise around £400,000 to do it.
Now, the council is seeking to commission an organisation or individual with a proven track record in fundraising to help reach the target.
“The fundraising should be achieved within 12 months of the appointment,” the council said, issuing the tender.
“We are requesting proposals that detail how a fundraiser can achieve this that are realistic, creative and work in partnership with Frome Town Council and the skatepark community.”
People are being encouraged to submit a short, costed proposal to Hannah Stopford by 9am on Monday, October 13.

“We’re looking for someone (an individual or organisation) with a great track record in fundraising to make it happen,” a spokesperson added.
“We want to hear from people who know how to get funding in the door (grants, sponsorships, creative ideas, partnerships — all welcome).
“You’ll be working closely with the town council and our amazing local skatepark community to turn the vision into reality.”
Interested parties can contact Hannah for an informal conversation on 01373 465757.
The Frome project comes as Wells pursues its own appeal to build a new skatepark – with funding already surpassing £10,000.
