EIGHT new flats could be built in the heart of Bridgwater if plans are approved.
Applicant Cornhill One Ltd and Cornhill Two Ltd submitted plans that would see the demolition of a single-story building at the rear of 27 to 28 Cornhill to create a new standalone building for eight new flats.
The site is the land behind the Old Post Office.

The applicant had plans to create eight flats at the property approved in 2010, but construction never started.
The latest application has seen the scheme reduced in height to ensure there is minimal impact on the wide area.
The first and second floors of the existing building are currently vacant, and the applicant says the conversion of these floors to flats should secure their future occupation.
A new shopfront would be installed as part of the plans, which the applicant said would “greatly improve the external appearance of a key building within the Bridgwater townscape.”
