A 19th CENTURY Victorian church in Somerset’s Mendip Hills – converted into a four-bedroom house – is up for sale.
The Old Chapel, in Blagdon, is on the market for £550,000, marketed by Inigo.
Details describe the house, which was converted in 2013, as “atmospheric”.
“It brims with sensitively restored period features including a soaring vaulted ceiling and mesmerising stained-glass tracery window,” it said.
“It has four bedrooms, one of which is a self-contained annexe that can provide flexible living arrangements.
“Outside, a well-tended garden encircles the building on two sides, with bucolic views that tumble down towards Blagdon Lake in the valley below.”
The listing added: “Its tactile sandstone façade is topped with a tiled gabled roof and decorative corbels that nod to its early history.
“While thoroughly transformed into a bright home with well-considered contemporary interventions, the house retains a sense of its early character with preserved features – not least a series of beautiful stained-glass windows.”
