TWO cars caught fire in Wells in the early hours of this morning – with the blaze damaging a nearby property after spreading.
Firefighters from the city were sent to the scene at just before 3.45am after “multiple reports” of a blaze.
“Upon arrival, the incident commander confirmed that two cars were well alight and also confirmed that the fire had spread to a nearby property with some minor damage,” a Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
Crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, and a thermal image camera to tackle the fire, they added.
“Both vehicles were completely destroyed by fire. The cause is unknown at this time,” the spokesperson said.
