A CAR crashed through the window of a Taunton supermarket this morning.
Lidl, in Roman Road, was closed after the incident, which saw a silver Honda Insight car career over bollards before hitting store windows.
A spokesperson for the budget supermarket chain confirmed emergency services were sent to the scene, and added: “Thankfully, no one in the store was injured.
“The store is currently closed with a view to reopening as soon as possible, once measures have been implemented to secure the store and ensure customer and colleague safety.”
Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters were sent to the supermarket and “made the scene safe”.
