A BUSY route across the Somerset Levels has re-opened after weeks of closure following recent flooding.
The A361, between Burrowbridge and East Lyng, reopened today (February 19) after Somerset Council said it underwent “a full assessment and flood clear-up”.
“The road was closed following prolonged heavy rain and flooding,” a spokesperson said.
“Our teams have now cleared debris and checked the road to make sure it is safe for use.
“Some nearby roads on the Levels remain closed, including Cutts Road, Langport Road and New Road. Please plan your journey carefully and check for the latest updates before travelling.
“Thank you to everyone for your patience while this vital route was closed.”
