DRIVERS and pedestrians in Bridgwater are better aware of crossing islands in Bridgwater – thanks to the hard work of a town team.
Bridgwater Town Council (BTC) staff have been on town streets in the early hours this week, cleaning a range of street furniture, making sure they are visible to people using the roads.
“Our teams have been out in the early hours, cleaning pedestrian refuge islands while traffic is quiet,” a council spokesperson said.
“It might seem like a small job, but removing built-up dirt from reflective bollards and clearing debris from the road and gravel makes a real difference.
“Cleaner islands mean safer crossings for everyone. They also reflect the pride we take in maintaining our public spaces and keeping Bridgwater looking its best.”
