Boy, 13, airlifted to hospital after e-scooter crash in Chard

A 13-YEAR-OLD boy was left in hospital after crashing on an e-scooter in Chard.

The incident unfolded near B&Q, on the A358 Furnham Road, at around 5.30pm on Tuesday evening (September 16).

“The boy came off a stand-on e-scooter and was airlifted to hospital where he remains for treatment,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.

“His family are aware. Thankfully his injuries are described as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

“Officers would like to thank members of the public who stopped to help at the scene.”

The road was closed as crash investigators reviewed the scene, between its junctions with Furnham Close and Victoria Avenue, and reopened at around 11pm.
