Are you a 90s lookalike? Head to the pub or post a pic – and you could win £1,000!

THE 90s was a time of Britpop, Tony Blair – and the Cool Britannia movement.

It might feel a long time ago now, but pubs across Somerset are celebrating the decade with a series of events – and a special competition.

Marston’s is running PubLife events – including live music, karaoke, bingo and quiz nights – at more than 500 pubs across the country, including in Taunton, Yeovil, Bridgwater and more.

And among promotions is a competition – in collaboration with drinks maker Hooch – to find the most iconic 90s lookalike.

Are you a dead ringer for Ginger Spice? Or a Robbie Williams impersonator in the making?

Well, you could win a £1,000 prize by visiting your nearest participating Marston’s pub, or posting a picture of yourself to Facebook or Instagram – tagging @hoochdrink, @MarstonsOnTap and mentioning your local pub – before midnight on Monday, August 25.

As well as the £1,000 top prize, Hooch bundles are also up for grabs for the best lookalikes.

Meanwhile, pubgoers will be able to sip on classic mixed drinks such as Vodka and Pepsi, Malibu and Pepsi, Bacardi and Pepsi, Archer’s and Lemonade or three flavours of the original 90s icon Hooch, while enjoying the entertainment.

And to celebrate Hooch’s 30th birthday, a new range of cocktails, available in pints or sharing pitchers, will be on offer at all participating venues.

John Green, operations director at Marston’s, said: “PubLife got off to a flying start throughout July, with amazing events taking place in our pubs up and down the country.

“There is still plenty to enjoy during August, with pubs also finishing off the summer with a bang over the Bank Holiday weekend.

“We are very much looking forward to seeing all the entries to the Brit icon lookalike competition and seeing locals head down to their local for some amazing music, entertainment, and classic drinks.”
