A GROWING village near Taunton could see even more homes built thanks to new plans being submitted.
Hallam Land Management has outlined plans to build up to 80 new homes on land west of Dene Road at Cotford St Luke .
The proposed site for development is adjacent to another site for 80 homes and a takeaway, also by Hallam, which had plans approved on appeal last year, with construction expected to start by Lovell Homes in 2025.
The latest plans would see a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced houses and bungalows as well as a football pitch and an allotment.
The development would include a green corridor separating it from the nearby consented houses.

Access from the site to the village is being proposed through the existing link via Budge Farm Lane as well as a public footpath to Burge Crescent, which has been proposed to be upgraded to an all-weather surface.
There are also plans to create key routes through the nearby approved scheme to Dene Road and Manning Road.
Hallam said the village school, Cotford St Luke Primary School, is forecast to have sufficient capacity to accommodate the proposed development.
“Development will draw on the character of the village, including the adjoining approved development site – to which it will deliver an attractive and integrated extension,” the application read.
