A 4X4 was destroyed by fire – which spread to a nearby hedgerow – in a field in a Somerset village last night (June 30).
Firefighters from Somerton and Martock were sent to the scene – in Charlton Mackrell – at just after 11pm.
“Crews attended from Somerton and Martock and discovered the vehicle well alight with the fire spreading to surrounding hedgerow,” a Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
“Crews extinguished the fire using breathing apparatus and a 51ml jet and left the scene at 12.26am.
“The vehicle was 100% damaged by fire.”
