A CAR ended up on its side after a crash near Taunton yesterday evening (October 26).

The incident saw firefighters from the town sent to the scene, on the A358 near the Farmers Arms, at around 6.30pm on Sunday evening.

“Fire Control received a call regarding a single vehicle road traffic collision with one person still within the vehicle,” a Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.

“On arrival, crews confirmed one vehicle to be on its side off the roadway with one person inside.”

Firefighters used stabilisation equipment, scene lighting and lines, to get the person out of the vehicle safely, when they were handed in to the care of the ambulance service.
